Say Yes to Volunteering

I have shared in the past that “saying yes more often” in the early stages of business growth is an important factor of success. Today I amend that to include volunteering as one of the ways you say “Yes!”

Volunteering matters most when it reflects Adam Grant’s otherish giver: you say "yes" to helping in ways that align with your values and purpose. I guide my adult children to “be a helper” rather than “be great in your career!” It captures this balance— to give generously, choose thoughtfully, and build impact without losing yourself or burning out.
